Colonel (retired) Dallas C. Hack, MD, MPHChairman
COL(R) Hack served as the Director of the Combat Casualty Care Research Program (CCCRP) at USAMRMC, where he coordinated trauma research across the Department of Defense, including a major emphasis on Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). A major responsibility included a portfolio of more than 600 projects directed at Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

As a key author of the 2013 National Research Action Plan, he developed a strategic action plan to solve the fundamental problems in TBI, initiating major efforts across the continuum of care.  Specific advances sponsored include neuroimaging, biomarkers, quantitative EEG, neuroplasticity, and comprehensive concussion treatment modalities.

The NCAA-DoD Grand Alliance was established under his leadership as the largest-ever study of concussion that is comprehensively evaluating the natural history of concussion.  He also co-developed the Chronic Effects of Neurotrauma Consortium, which is the largest-ever study of the long-term effects of TBI.  To facilitate the regulatory success of TBI Treatment Clinical Trials, Dr. Hack developed the TBI Endpoints Development (TED) program, which is collaborating with the FDA on Drug Development Tools as improved endpoints for clinical trials.

In addition to numerous military awards, he was recognized as the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year by his alma mater, Loma Linda University, in May 2015.  He also has appointments as Adjunct Professor of Neurosurgery, University of Pittsburgh and Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Virginia Commonwealth University.
